If you love a space that feels open and full of light, The Barn is exactly where you want to be. The first thing you’ll notice when you walk in is the height of the ceilings and the way the light pours in through the roof windows. It has a wonderful, uplifting energy that immediately makes you feel like you’re on holiday. The whole ground floor is open-plan, so whether you’re busy in the kitchen, sitting down for a meal, or curled up on the sofa, everyone can be part of the conversation.
It’s a brilliant spot for couples seeking a restful getaway. The bedroom boasts a Super King zip-and-link bed, and because we know how important a good night’s sleep is, we have chosen Hypnos Beds. When the weather is sunny, you can throw open the French doors and take your coffee out onto the terrace. It’s incredibly peaceful, and because it’s so tucked away, you really get that sense of getting away from it all.
Practicality hasn’t been forgotten in favour of style, either. We know that many of our guests come to Fife for the golf or the cycling, so we’ve included a private garage. It’s the perfect place to park away your car or store your clubs and bikes safely. The Barn offers a stylish, comfortable, and very friendly base for your stay.
For groups of up to six, Lower Lodge and The Barn can be booked together. Sitting right next to each other on the estate, they offer the perfect setup for friends or family to holiday together while still enjoying the privacy of their own separate cottages.

You don’t always have to jump in the car to find something to do, either. Being right next to Cairnie Fruit Farm is a real treat, especially in the summer when you can go over and pick your own berries or let the kids loose in the maze. There are plenty of walking trails right from your front door if you’ve brought the dog along, and the Scottish Deer Centre is just a ten-minute drive away. Whether you’re here to see the big sights or just want to enjoy the fresh air and a slower pace of life, there is always something interesting happening nearby.
If you feel like exploring further, you couldn’t be in a better spot. We’re only about twenty minutes from St Andrews, which is a must-see even if you aren’t a golfer; it’s full of history, hidden cobbled lanes, and fantastic places to eat. If you prefer the coast, the little fishing villages of the East Neuk are just down the road for a brisk harbour walk and world-class fish and chips.
For a grand day out, the capital is also within easy reach. You can be in the heart of Edinburgh in about an hour, whether you choose to drive or take the scenic train from Cupar. It’s the perfect way to spend a day exploring the Royal Mile, visiting the Castle, or enjoying a bit of world-class shopping before heading back to the peace and quiet of the Fife countryside. It’s the kind of area where you can be as busy or as relaxed as you like.
Dates for the Golf Open St Andrews 11 – 18th July 2027 have been blocked off, but can be booked privately through the Enquiries page.
